Sometimes we have to play defense

When God gave me this thought, I got excited about it! It’s what every  believer needs to hear. Be ready to defend what you believe! How many of us shy away from those kinds of conversations feeling that they are all confrontations. Running from the idea of having to give an account for what we believe. Feeling that it’s not worth the hassle. Feeling, I got better things to be doing than arguing with this fool. Feeling, ain’t, nobody got time for that. But Jesus made a defense for us. And it changed the course of how God related to us. No longer unacceptable for God. How could we not make a defense for what we believe. After all, it is what we believe. We should stand firm, be proud and follow God’s instruction on defending what we believe. He did give instruction on how to handle and encounter like this.  It may make someone uncomfortable, it may even make us uncomfortable, but we defend the things we love. And there should be nothing more dear to our hearts than the one who loved us enough to die for us. His name is Jesus and there is none like Him. The name above every name. He is worthy of us making a defense  of who He is to us.

1 Peter 3:13-17
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
13 And who will harm you if you are deeply committed to what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed, 15 but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.16 However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear,so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
